On April 13, 2023, The Town of Surfside Beach announced that they had chosen a new attorney – our own Jarrett Bouchette!
We are pleased and proud to have Attorney Bouchette with our firm and he will represent the Town of Surfside Beach impeccably and professionally.
The Town of Surfside Beach has chosen a new attorney.
Jarrett Bouchette is a trial and appellate attorney that currently serves as managing shareholder of The Floyd Law Firm PC. His experience is broad-based and has included appearances in Federal District Court, The South Carolina Court of Appeals, Common Pleas (Civil Court), General Sessions (Criminal), Family Court, Probate Court, and Magistrate’s Court. He has tried cases before judges and juries in both civil and criminal court with subject areas ranging from breach of contract and negligence to criminal domestic violence and murder.
Today, Jarrett focuses his practice in the areas of Criminal Defense, Civil Litigation, and Probate Litigation. He also assists professionals such as nurses, contractors, real estate brokers and others licensed through the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (LLR) in disciplinary proceedings before various licensing boards. In addition to representing clients in the beginning of a case, and at the trial stage, Jarrett has accepted representation of clients to handle appeals following the conclusion of their trial.
Attorney Bouchette is member of the trial and appellate practice section of the South Carolina Bar, The Federal Bar association, the National College for DUI Defense, and currently serves on the board of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (SCACDL) representing the 15th judicial circuit.
Jarrett’s primary strategy in any case, whether civil or criminal, is to prepare the case for trial. Though few cases ever get to that stage, it is only by preparing the case for trial that you can evaluate whether your settlement or plea agreement is the absolute best one available.
Attorney Bouchette will assist the Town with legal guidance and directions, legal opinions and consultation to the Mayor, Council, Town Administrator, and Department Heads. He will attend Town Council meetings and assist the Town Clerk with parliamentarian responsibilities.
