Dalton B. Floyd, Jr., is the founding attorney and senior partner of The Floyd Law Firm P.C., Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Established in 1973, the firm takes pride in furnishing a comprehensive range of legal services. Admitted to practice in South Carolina, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1966 in Ankara, Turkey. He was also certified as Trial and Defense Counsel of the Judge Advocate General Corp for the United States Air Force.

App. 1989), U.S.F. and G. Co. v. Security F. and I. Co., 248 S.C. 307 (1966), Hartman v. Jensen’s, Inc., 277 S.C. 501 (1982), and Piedmont Aviation, Inc. V. Quinn, 294 S.C. 502 (Ct. App. 1988), among others.
In addition to his illustrious legal career, Mr. Floyd is the Founder and the President of Golf Rx Associates, Inc., a consulting company for a variety of golf industry matters. For 15 years, he was the attorney for Carolina’s Section of the Professional Golf Association. He has also served as an instructor for the Education Department of the PGA and The National Golf Course Superintendents Association. Mr. Floyd is also a frequent speaker on cutting-edge golf industry topics. From 2010 to 2020, he served as an Adjunct Faculty member of Charleston Law School and taught Golf Law, Negotiation 101, and Rainmaking 101. His vast experience also includes his tenures as the Assistant Solicitor for Florence County for three years, general counsel of Waccamaw State Bank, Patriot Federal Savings and Loan, and SunBank, and Chairman of the General Practice Section and the Economic and Law Office Management Committee of the South Carolina Bar. He has over 33 years of litigation experience and over 25 years of trial work experience. Mr. Floyd maintains professional affiliations with the Coastal Carolina University Board of Trustees (Trustee, since 2018), Trustee of Brookgreen Gardens (since 2003), Founder of The Dalton and Linda Floyd Family Mentoring Program, Coastal Carolina University, Founder of The Dalton and Linda Floyd College Readiness Program, Winthrop University, and Member of Brookgreen Gardens’ Board of Trustees, among others.
