Biography

Attorney Jonny McCoy grew up in the heart of Myrtle Beach and is dedicated to standing up for the rights of those in his hometown, community, and beyond. A graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2008. Since beginning his law practice, he has built a reputation as a lawyer with an undeniable passion for justice. Having personally been a victim of police misconduct in the past, Jonny directly relates to his clients who feel violated and injured through no fault of their own. In addition to personal injury claims, civil rights law, and wrongful death cases – Jonny also has extensive experience in the courtroom as a criminal defense trial attorney.

Mr. McCoy’s legal knowledge and drive has led him to assist a large variety of clients – ranging from major insurance companies, professional athletes, reality stars, television celebrities, and public officials. He is frequently called upon as a legal analyst for nearly every broadcasting network in the area.

When he is not practicing law, Jonny is the founder and CEO of a mental health peer support app called WhiteFlag. He carefully created WhiteFlag after emerging from a horrific battle with PTSD and benzodiazepine addiction. His goal is to fight back against the stigma and provide a safe and comfortable place for people in pain to get the peer support that they need.

Jonny resides in Myrtle Beach with his wife, Cia, and their beloved dog Rhea. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his loved ones on the river, at the beach, or at home rooting for the Gamecocks.
