Slip and fall accidents can happen when least expected

Business and property owners in the state of South Carolina are legally obligated to keep their property and business safe for all those who legally visit. Considering the financial challenges present for business owners in today's economy, repairs or maintenance on property may sometimes be delayed in an attempt to save a few dollars. Unfortunately, these unsafe conditions have the potential to cause injury to visitors and patrons, so property owners actually stand to lose more money in the long run in the form of lawsuits. It may be no coincidence that slip and fall accidents are happening more frequently across the country.

A woman in another state recently filed a lawsuit after she allegedly suffered injuries from a fall caused by hazardous conditions on a property she was visiting. Apparently, the woman was on the property while doing business. According to the lawsuit, the woman encountered a pool of liquid on the floor that caused her to slip and fall.

Allegedly, the plaintiff suffered very severe injuries due to the fall. She claims that these injuries have caused her loss of income as well as much pain and anguish. She holds the property owners responsible because she claims that they neglected to eliminate the alleged hazard and also did not provide warning of the dangerous environment.

Although unfortunate, it is not uncommon for business owners across the country to neglect property and let things fall into a state of disrepair. South Carolina requires business owners to make their premises safe for all patrons. Those that have been injured in slip and fall accidents could benefit from seeking the services of an experienced attorney. A successfully litigated lawsuit could result in vital compensation to help cover any medical expenses incurred due to the treatment of injuries.
