As populations increase, so do motor vehicle accidents

More and more people are moving to the state of South Carolina to take advantage of the wonderful climate and great opportunities that this great state has to offer. Due to this population boom, more vehicles than ever before are sharing crowded roadways across the state. With so many vehicles sharing roads, motor vehicle accidents become almost inevitable.

A recent accident in Richland County left one person dead and three others injured. The accident occurred during the late afternoon hours on Garners Ferry Road. According to accident reports, an eastbound Mazda SUV was attempting to make a left turn and failed to yield to an oncoming Nissan.

The Nissan collided with the passenger side of the Mazda SUV, according to reports from the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The violent collision killed a passenger in the Mazda SUV on impact. The driver of the Mazda, the driver of the Nissan and a passenger were all transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, authorities say. Police are still investigating the crash.

Hundreds of crashes occur each day across the state of South Carolina as more and more drivers take to roadways across the state. Most of these motor vehicle accidents are fender benders and nothing more than minor inconveniences. However, an increasing number of these accidents are fatal. Those that have suffered injuries or lost loved ones in accidents such as this may be able to take legal action. A successful lawsuit could result in financial relief to help families recover monetary losses.
