Motor vehicle accidents are on the rise across South Carolina

Getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle is a privilege that should never be taken for granted.  Populations continue to rise across the great state of South Carolina, which means that roadways are more crowded than ever before. Navigating these crowded and congested roadways can be one of the most dangerous daily activities in the lives of most South Carolinians. Motor vehicle accidents can happen in the blink of an eye and the consequences can be fatal.

A recent car crash in Charleston left three people dead and two others injured. The accident happened during the overnight hours near a popular intersection in North Charleston. According to witness reports, a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a red light at the intersection.

Reports say that, as the Camaro sped through the intersection, it crashed into a Chevy Impala. Tragically, three occupants of the Impala were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, authorities say. The driver of the Camaro and a passenger received serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Operating a motor vehicle is something that comes with great responsibility. Unfortunately, not all South Carolina drivers are as cautious or responsible as they should be behind the wheel. Motor vehicle accidents continue to rise across the state. Families that have lost a loved one due to no fault of his or her own in this type of accident may be able to pursue legal action. A successful lawsuit could provide much-needed compensation to help families with medical bills and end-of-life expenses.
