Slip and fall accidents: Man claims abuse after fall at concert

Seemingly innocent incidents can rapidly escalate out of control. When the negligence of another person results in injury, as in slip and fall accidents, some South Carolina victims seek the advice of an attorney to explore their options for legal recourse. A man in another state is likely being advised by an attorney after his claims of abuse following a fall at a popular Hollywood theater.

The man was attending a concert by a band called Ween at a popular theater, the Hollywood Palladium. He reports that several bottles, cups and various liquids were on the floor in the general admission area. Reportedly, he slipped on some of the rubbish and fell. According to the concert attendee, the guards saw him on the ground, approached him and questioned his situation while he was disoriented from the fall.

The man reports that the guards were not gentle, and one attempted to retrieve his identification from his wallet without his permission. When he tried to block the guard from grabbing his wallet, he reports that the incident escalated. He claims that he was body slammed and eventually handcuffed to a wheelchair. The worst of his claims involves the guards threatening to break his fingers over the incident. The man has filed a lawsuit against the concert venue, Live Nation and some of the individuals involved in his alleged assault. and he is seeking compensation for medical expenses, loss of income and other damages.

When people in power abuse their authority, it can be difficult for victims to speak against them. Attorneys are versed in South Carolina law and are capable of using their knowledge to advocate for victims of negligence, slip and fall accidents or victims of abuse, and advise them of their legal options. Even if criminal charges are not filed against negligent parties, some victims can file a lawsuit in civil court when appropriate.
